Kampong Buangkok Photography

Built in 1956, Kampong Buangkok also known as 'Selak Kain' has been around for 58 years, even longer than the nation's independence. Today, even with the rapid urbanization of the country, the kampong continues to be home to about 60 people living there. The residents continues to struggle on how to maintain their way of life in the 21st century and the purpose of this project is to portray the Singapore way of life in the late 50/60s as well as to raise awareness to prevent the last kampong on mainland Singapore to get destroyed.
